Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga leads Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart as its latest single “Esta Vida Es Muy Bonita” ascends 4-1 on the Feb. 19-dated survey. The title track off the group’s latest studio album takes over atop the tally through a 13% boost in audience impressions, to 7.1 million, earned in the week ending Feb. 13, according to MRC Data.

“Esta Vida Es Muy Bonita” grants the band its 16th No. 1 in its four-decade chart career, dating back to the six-week champ “Adorable Mentirosa,” with the late Juan Gabriel, in 1999. With the track’s newest week on top, Banda El Recodo shoots for a five-way tie with four other ensembles for the second-most No. 1s since the chart’s inception in 1994, trailing only Calibre 50’s yet unbeatable 21 leaders.

“Esta Vida Es Muy Bonita” is Banda El Recodo’s second champ from its album of the same name. The act previously topped the chart with the set’s “Qué Tienen Tus Palabras,” which ascended from the runner-up slot to rule for one week on the Oct. 9, 2021-dated ranking. The Sinaloans’ prior No. 1 entered the list half a decade before as “Mi Vicio” is part of the band’s second and most recent No. 1 on the all-Latin genre Top Latin Albums chart (Mi Vicio Más Grande, its only No. 1 debut in July 2015).
Beyond its reign on the regional Mexican airwaves, “Esta Vida” pushes 11-5 on the all-genre Latin Airplay tally, Banda’s highest ranking since the No. 5 high “Si No Es Contigo” in 2016.
